Many people have asked for a damage meter in Aion. While addons are not yet available for the game there is someone out there who put together a nice little plugin for ACT that works with Aion. Anyone familiar with EQ2 knows how great of a parser this is, and through testing it seems to be a good job with Aion as well so far.

Although customization is pretty limited so far, this will give you those raw numbers you may be looking for. Yes, you can now spout about how much DPS you do, although… mostly no one will care.

This is mostly copy pasta from the install faq of the plugin, but it will get you up and running.

1. Installation

a. Download and install ACT from http://advancedcombattracker.com, by using ACT
documentation for this.

b. Copy the “system.ovr” file into root folder of Aion.
First note: The root folder my vary, the file shall be in the same folder as
“system.cfg” and “version.ini”.
Second note: If no “system.ovr” are avaiable, this file is just a small text
file with these lines to ask the Aion client to start logging:

g_chatlog = “1″
log_IncludeTime = “1″
log_Verbosity = “1″
log_FileVerbosity = “1″

c. Restart Aion. The system.ovr file need to exists when you start Aion, or it
will not log the action.

d. Copy the “AionParse.dll” file into the ACT folder.
Note: The folder is not important, but if located in the ACT folder it will
be easier to find inside ACT.

e. Start ACT (And update ACT to atleast version 2.9.6.212)

f. Add the plugin to ACT’s known plugin listing
*) Press the Browse… button at the top of the Plugins tab
*) Find the plugin file where you downloaded it and click the Open button
in the dialog
*) Finally press the Add Plugin button now that the file path is displayed.

g. Enable the plugin
*) Find the added plugin at the top of the listing and click the Enabled
checkbox.
*) Clicking anywhere on the panel will show the plugin’s info before or after
the plugin is enabled.
*) Once the plugin is enabled, a new tab will appear next to Plugn Listing
for the plugin. This is planned to be used as AionParse only options.
This is not avaiable at this point.

h. Find the Aion Log
*) Go to the About tab, and click “open log”
*) Find the log in the root folder of Aion (same folder where you put
“system.ovr” in)
